BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
TELECONFERENCE CALL
August 27, 2009

The meeting was called to order by President, Steve Ballentine at 8:30 pm.

The following members were present and constituted a quorum: Bob Brantley, Jane Simmons, Fred Bieber, Sharon Bieber, Elliott Fayssoux, Mary Bynum, Doug Bennink, Jill Simmons, Rick Cunningham, Doug Gaddis and Michele Jenkins.

Board members not in attendance: Steve Cothran

Staff present: Nancy Shultz

The meeting was held to discuss the following items: 1) Publix Contract, 2) Cups & Games vacancy, and 3) Bid for the 2011 Southern Regional Tournament.

Item 1: Publix Contract

• Discussed 3 year contract, sponsorship of all events mentioned as well as any added later.

Fred made a motion to accept the Publix contract. Michele seconded the motion.

THE MOTION PASSED.

Item 2: Steve Cothran’s Resignation – Cups & Games vacancy

Don Mikell was elected as the new Cups and Games Director effective September 8, 2009.

Bob Brantley will get Don’s information to Steve B.

Item 3: Bid for the 2011 Southern Regional Tournament

• Discussed Pearse Tormey presenting to the Board a request for CESA to host the 2011 Southern Regional Tournament, tentative date for Wednesday at 9:00pm.
• Discussed Tennessee also placing a bid.

The meeting adjourned at 9:10 pm.
