Final Report 2007-2008 Soccer Season
The Presidents Medal Soccer League (PMSL) is comprised of our second tier classic teams where the U15 – U18 compete in the fall league and then play in the Fall Publix South Carolina Youth Soccer Presidents Medal Cup for the opportunity to play in the Region III Presidents Cup the following June. The U13 – U14 teams compete in both the fall and spring and then play in the Spring Publix South Carolina Youth Soccer Presidents Medal Cup for the opportunity to play in the Region III Presidents Cup in June.

The Region III Presidents Cup is comprised of teams from the 11 states in Region III with Texas having two regions for a total of 12. (North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, North Texas and South Texas)

Our ten U13 – U17 girls and boys teams represented us well in June at the Region III Presidents Cup in Columbus, GA. All teams but one team came away from Columbus with at least a tie or win in this very competitive tournament. The Region III Presidents Cup in June 2009 will be hosted by the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy and will be held in Greenville, SC.

The South Carolina State Challenge League(SCSCL) is comprised of our most competitive classic teams where the U15 – U18 compete in the fall league and then play in the Fall Publix South Carolina State Challenge Cup for the opportunity to play in the US Youth Soccer National Championship competition. This championship series starts with the US Youth Soccer Southern Region III Championship in June. The U13 – U14 teams compete in the Spring South Carolina State Challenge Cup where the U14 team champions move on to the Region III Championships in June.

The Region III Premier East Soccer league is comprised of the top teams from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Of our 20 teams competing in the league we had 8 teams that finished 4th place or better. We had one team the U16 boys Columbia United FC Elite finish first. We also had the U18 boys Lexington United 89 and the U14 girls CESA 93 Premier finish 2nd. These teams also competed in both our Publix South Carolina State Challenge Cup and the US Youth Soccer Southern Region III Championship.

The US Youth Soccer Southern Region III Championship games were played in Raleigh and Wilson, NC. The tournament was comprised of teams from the 11 states in Region III with Texas having two regions for a total of 12. (North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, North Texas and South Texas)

In the US Youth Soccer Southern Region III Championship tournament of our 13 teams, we had 5 teams make it to the quarterfinals where we hit a block wall. In the quarter final matches we lost two games in PKs, one game in the second overtime, one game in the 3rd minute of added time and the one game with a 2-0 loss.

We are now getting ready for the 2008 – 2009 year. Applications for PMSL and SCSCL leagues are now available and must be completed by July 15. The PMSL and SCSCL coaches scheduling meeting is set for August 3, 2008 in Columbia at the Embassy Suites. The leagues may start play as early as August 23, 2008.

Fall and Spring State Cup Locations will be announced at the Presidents Meeting on August 2.
