Kicking News in the Piedmont District
The Piedmont District Council annual general meeting was held May 27, 2008. Michele Jenkins was re-elected as District Commissioner and Kacy Culbertson was elected District Secretary. Kacy will be an asset to the district with the knowledge and experience she has as a former club and collegiate player. She will be a breath of fresh air for us all.

I'm pleased to announce that we have four new clubs in the district. They are:

1. Salvation Army Soccer (SAS)
2. Upstate United Soccer Club
3. Azteca Soccer Club
4. Cherokee County Soccer Club

The SC Youth Soccer State Council Meeting, Presidents’ Workshop and 31st Awards Luncheon will be held August 2, 2008, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Embassy Suites in Columbia. This event is mandatory and every Club and League in the district must have their President or a representative in attendance. Registration will begin at 8:00 am and the Council Meeting will start promptly at 9:00 am.

Elections for the positions of SC Youth Soccer President and Secretary will be held at the SC Youth State Council Meeting. Nominations for these two positions will be open and accepted from the floor. These are volunteer positions and open to anyone who is supportive of soccer for all players of all levels throughout the state.

In closing, be safe, enjoy the summer and appreciate the time with your family.

Michele Jenkins
Piedmont District Commissioner
