Coastal District Net-works As we all prepare of the upcoming seasonal year of 2008-2009, I will share a number of items of interest with each of you. Your Coastal District Cabinet held their Annual General Meeting in April and re-elected Cathy Ballentine as your Coastal District Commissioner, and Donna Brant as the District Secretary. Other members of the cabinet are ShaMarie Johnson, Coastal District Vice Commissioner, and Neil Veloso, Coastal District Cups and Games Director. If you need our assistance or would like to participate on the district level, please contact me.
Our SC Youth Soccer coaching certification/licensing courses are published on this SC Youth Soccer website. Please review the coach license requirements by clicking on coaches at the top of the page and license requirements. Every coach must meet the module/license requirements as they are mandatory for ALL SC Youth Soccer Coaches. If you have not met the requirements, you will not receive a coaching pass this upcoming seasonal year 2008-2009. Note: Any new coaches will receive a one-year grace period.
Our 2008-2009 State Cup Classic Champions will participate in the President's Cup on June 13th in Greenville, SC. This tournament will be hosted by the CESA Club.
Our 2008-2009 State Cup Challenge Champions and Premier teams will advance to the Region III Southern Region Championship in North Texas. Competition will begin June 18th.
SC Youth Soccer fees: No existing fees will increase for this upcoming seasonal year.
On-line registration: SC Youth Soccer has asked and would like for all clubs to participate with our online registration program through Demosphere for this upcoming seasonal year. SC Youth Soccer will pay the initial set-up fee, if signed up by the designated date. If your club has not signed with Demosphere, please consider this change by contacting Jane Simmons.
Finally, registration has begun for many clubs, so official rosters will be created between late July and early to mid August. If your team is traveling out of state during the months of August and September, please prepare your notification to travel forms and send to me along with a check for $20 and a copy of the tournament host agreement while we await for your tournament team roster or new official rosters whichever is applicable depending on the tournament date. As the rosters are being produced, they will fax copies to me. The fall season can be a little hectic because thousands of players are registering and thousands are trying to travel on the same dates. So, assist us by planning ahead. Use our website to retrieve your notification to travel forms.
I hope everyone has had an enjoyable summer as we slowly inch our way to create another fantastic seasonal year, 2008-2009. Once again, the district and state boards are here for you, please contact us anytime for information or better understanding.
