Recreation News There was fun, Family, Friendship, and Fitness at South Carolina Youth Soccer's Youth Soccer Month events this September. It started at Furman University on September 7-9th with a special soccer event for youth during the Diadora Sphinx Tournament. Over 1400 youth, parents and students attended the event where SCYSA Volunteers Doug Gaddis, Bob Brantley, and Michelle Jenkins handed out all sorts of soccer goodies to help celebrate Youth Soccer Month.
The youth players were able to draw and sign their name on a special US YOUTH SOCCER banner, and they received anything from soccer tattoos to magnets and pompoms to help celebrate the event and month.
The second event was held at the University of South Carolina during the Gamecocks game. Plans in the future are to celebrate Youth soccer Month events in all three districts.
