Soccer Start is the program that focuses on providing training and venues for underserved populations throughout the state. Kids who would normally not be able to play soccer have the opportunity to utilize equipment, skill training and coaching training.
TopSoccer is the USYS program for Boys and Girls with disabilities. This program provides playing opportunities to compete and play the game of soccer for boys and girls with disabilities.
SCYSA Introduces "Academy Division" SCYSA has recently approved a new “Academy Division” of play for the U10 ,U11 and U12 ages. This “Academy Division” will allow clubs to evaluate players prior to placing them in a “team pool” within their clubs. From this pool of players they will be put on a weekly team roster for league play.
After a series of meetings with numerous club DOC’s from around the state, their recommendations were overwhelmingly in favor of this “Academy” concept. This new “Academy Division” should maximize player participation in the U10 – U12 ages and provide coaches the ability to move players on teams as needed to improve player development.
These players may receive additional weekly training, as provided by their clubs to enhance their development.

Our Coaching Education Philosophy PLAY—Children come to play the game, not to work, not to listen to the coach lecture and not to discuss the game. They come to PLAY and playing equates to fun. The game is the teacher—Players learn best by actually playing the game in an environment where they feel free to try new ideas. Organized Spontaneity—Encouragement of free play by modifying the playing environment to small-sided games is ideal. >>SCYSA Small Sided Games Rules for Classic and Recreational Divisions - PDF
