OBJECTIVE: To assist South Carolina Youth Soccer Association promote, solicit potential sponsors around South Carolina while learning skills related to marketing, advertising and promotion. 15-20 hours per week. Typically 5 days per week and 5 hours day. Internship position is not compensated, but any required or necessary paperwork will be completed to provide college credits.
SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
PPROGRAM ELIGIBILITIY & SUBMISSION:
· Students interested in the field of marketing/communications/promotions
· Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above
· Experience with web design/graphic design background
· Must enjoy working with public sector
· Complete application
· Two letters of recommendation
· One-page essay about what student hopes to gain from internship
· Highly motivated, energetic and business minded student
· Interview with Executive Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Report to work on time
· Gather seasonal marketing, promotions & demographic research
· Assist with development of market plan for upcoming season
· Assist with development and publishing press releases
· Verbal and written communication skills are very important
· Compile mailing distribution list for a quarterly newsletter
· Design & complete newsletter for recreation programs
· Assist with development of social network sites and website maintenance
· Assist office manager with various responsibilities as assigned
· Assist with phone calls to businesses seeking sponsorship/partnership
· Assist with any other duties as needed or assigned by the Executive Director
