State Champions Crowned in Rock Hill
South Carolina News
The top players in South Carolina took to the fields of Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill this past December, in the Publix Bob Brantley Challenge Cup, to determine who would get the opportunity to compete at this year’s Southern Regionals in Edmond, Oklahoma in hopes of continuing their journey to become National Champions. The games were closer than ever this year and the trends of previous years Challenge Cups were nowhere to be found.
The parody of the skill across the state was obvious with six of eight championship games ending with only one goal separating the two finalists. Overtime and kicks from the mark were not a rare occurrence in such a competitive cup. Each district will have multiple representatives at the Southern Regionals competing.
Another prize every team was playing for was the chance to compete in the Region 3 Premier League- East. Each team that was able to make it to the finals was rewarded with the opportunity to play and compete next Fall against the best teams from North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
South Carolina would like to wish the following teams, who were either awarded a spot at Southern Regionals or next Fall’s Premier League-East, good luck in their endeavors at the next highest level of competition.
