The SC Youth Soccer State Council Meeting, Presidents’ Workshop and Thirtieth Anniversary Awards Luncheon was held August 4, 2007, a mandatory function with every affiliated Club and League sending their President or designated officer.

The SC Youth Soccer State Council meeting held elections for the positions of SC Youth Soccer Vice President and Treasurer. Both Steve Ballentine and John Loy were nominated and elected to continue service within the organization.

The SC Youth Soccer Board of Directors presented a workshop covering changes to our Registration Rules, State Cup manual and SC Youth Soccer Insurance with updates on our Risk Management and ODP.

Other important topics included a discussion on confronting child sexual abuse and guiding responsible adults on how to protect our children. Darkness to Light (www.darkness2light.org) is a grassroots national non-profit organization based in Charleston, SC, that seeks to protect children from sexual abuse by placing responsibility squarely on adult shoulders. SC Youth Soccer sponsors members who are interested in participating in an online program designed to educate adults about the importance of addressing this very real problem in our society today. Any SC Youth Soccer member interested in participating in this program should contact Barry Bynum.
